: Cricket World Cup 2019 :
June 16 (Sunday): Match 22
: India vs Pakistan :
Hitman smashed a brilliant Hundred and India were 314 for 4 in 47.3 overs. Kohli was looking settled , hitting the bowlers all over the park. India was looking good to reach the 350 mark.
Then suddenly Kohli walked off.
47.4 : Amir to Kohli , A bouncer. Sarfaraz takes it and went for an appeal, a soft one.
Umpire didn't raise his finger.
But Kohli walked off.
Great gesture and great sportsmanship. Isn't it?
Definitely.
BUT
The ultra edge shows no spike, no deviation.
And with the naked eye one can clearly see there was a gap between the bat and the ball.
So why did Kohli walk off?
According to Saurav Ganguly in the commentary box as well as the signals those are coming out after kohli reached the dressing room was : it was some kind of a noise which came of the bat's handle.
Kohli and Dhoni were spotted discussing the same thing for some minutes and Kohli was clearly looking disappointed and he has to only blame himself for this.
When you play in this part of the world and the ball continuously hits the upper part of the bat then it may happen sometimes.
In this era where you have a DRS option available, where you can get the confirmation easily, then you should wait. That was really an ultra-honest act from Virat to be honest.
All thanks to Indian discipline bowling where they made sure this was not that costly and India managed to win the match by 89 runs.
Stat Update : India 7 - Pakistan 0.
